Christina Stead's 110th obit


Christina Stead (17 July 1902 – 31 March 1983) was an Australian novelist and short-story writer acclaimed for her satirical wit and penetrating psychological characterisations. She was born in Rockdale, New South Wales, and died in Sydney. Her novel "The Man Who Loved Children", written 1940, has become known only after a reissue edition in 1965, introduced by Randall Jarrell.
